Özet:

With the development of the tourism sector and the increase in the number of people participating in tourism, the demand for protected areas, especially by visitors, is also increasing. Damaging the area, consciously or unintentionally, during excursions and recreational activities carried out by visitors can cause irreversible damage. The purpose of the research is to evaluate the visitor management practices carried out in Göreme National Park and the Rock Sites of Cappadocia by local visitors. In this context, it is planned to present suggestions for improving visitor management and creating visitor experiences in Cappadocia, one of the most visited regions of Turkey. The data were collected through a survey from local visitors visiting Göreme in 2019. A total of 169 usable questionnaires were obtained and tabulated by taking the mean and standard deviation values of the data. The control and security of the region and the lack of information about the park were also identified as the main problemsdeficiencies that emerged from the survey results. The research ends with suggestions for solutions to the problems in visitor management.
