Özet:

The ability of students to express what they have learned, to question, and to use their high-level mental abilities effectively is in parallel with the educational environment provided to them. It is inevitable to develop high-level thinking skills in educational environments where individual differences are taken into account, the individual is seen as an individual, and emotions and thoughts are revealed in line with what is taught. Considering these issues, it is aimed to determine the contributions of an educational environment in which the student is active and structures the process with questions. For this purpose, Turkish lesson activities were developed with Philosophy for Children P4C education approach, based on a mixed research design for primary school 4th grade students. Two groups were determined as experimental and control groups. P4C-based Turkish education was given to the experimental group for 10 weeks, 4 hours per week. Within the scope of the research, questioning skills test, attitude test towards asking questions and Turkish academic achievement test were applied as pre-test and post-test. In addition, a semi-structured interview form was applied to the students in the experimental group. The analysis of the quantitative data was done with SPSS 22. Package program. Qualitative data were analyzed by content analysis. According to the results obtained, an increase was observed in the students questioning skills, their attitudes towards asking questions and their academic success.
