Özet:

The Republican Peoples Party was founded in 1923, played a key role in the transition from sultanate to democracy and enabled the society to adopt a western style of life. At the same time, it was decisive and guiding in the context of Party-state integration. Party inspectorates were established in 1923, and the authority of the institution was expanded in 1935. The purpose of the establishment of party inspectorates was to help the party organisations to actively operate the political mechanism as well as to identify social problems on the spot and solve them quickly. Each deputy was assigned a district outside hisher constituency and was assigned there for six months. The inspectors inspected party organisations and public houses in the provinces and districts and submitted their impressions on education, health, economy, etc. to the CHP General Secretariat with a report. In this study, Niğde is analysed in the light of the inspection reports of Bursa Deputy Galip Kahraman, who was assigned to Niğde, Kırşehir and Kayseri in 1938. The cohesion and work of the organisations in the city centre and districts, developments in various fields such as agriculture, sports and reconstruction are presented. The majority of the sources used in the study are archive documents.
