Özet:

Muaviyeh b Abu Sufyan, who took over the Caliphate from Hasan, took all precautions to leave his position to his son Yazid b Muaviyeh. and after his death, Yazid b Muaviyeh took over the caliphate. Thats why Yazid b Muaviyehs caliphate was not objected to outside the Hejaz Region. When Yazid asked for a group from the people of Medina to ensure the obedience of the people of Hejaz, a group of Medina notables, including his companions, went to Damascus. Abdullah b Hanzaleh was also among the group from Medina. Abdullah was the son of Hanzaleh, known as gasîlül-melâike, and the grandson of Abdullah b Übey b Selûl and Ebû Âmir er-Râhib, who gave the Prophet a difficult time. Abdullah b Hanzaleh, who was among the group from Medina, rejected Yazids caliphate after returning to Medina due to some illegitimate behavior he saw in Yazids person while he was in Damascus. The majority of the people of Medina followed him and subsequently elected Abdullah b Hanzaleh as their leader. Due to this attitude of the people of Medina, Yazid wanted to send an army to Medina and subjugate Medina, but undesirable events occurred in Medina due to the army coming from Damascus. Hundreds of people were killed in this incident, which went down in history as the Battle of Harre. The fact that he suddenly came to the fore in the Battle of Harre and was elected leader despite being one of the younger companions in terms of age made Abdullah b Hanzaleh special and worth researching. In the research, in addition to information about Abdullah b Hanzalehs life, family and personality; Whether he was a companion or not, his role in the Harre incident, why he was in the delegation that went to Yazid, why he rejected Yazids caliphate, and why he did not oppose Yazid while in Damascus despite the negativities he encountered were examined. The scope of the research is limited to the life, family, personality and activities of Abdullah b Hanzaleh. In the method of the research, the data obtained were synthesized and presented using narrative and didactic methods.
