 This study was conducted using maize Zea mays L. varieties from two different maturity groups DKC5747 FAO 500 and PR31P41 FAO 650 under IIproduct conditions. The effects of different sowing times June 1, June 20, July 10 and planting densities 800, 900, 1000, and 1100 plants per hectare on these varieties yield and yield components were investigated. The objective was to determine the optimal maturity group, sowing time, and planting density for achieving the highest yield in maize Zea mays L.. The features analyzed included plant height cm, cob length cm, cob weight gcob, corn grain number per cob corn grainscob, single corn grain weight mgcorn grain, and grain yield per cob gcob. The results showed that sowing time significantly influenced all features examined. The highest values for cob length, weight, corn grain number per cob, and grain yield per cob were obtained at the second sowing time June 20, while the lowest values were recorded at the third sowing time July 10. The optimal planting density was determined to be 9001100 plantsha for the DKC5747 variety and 800 plantsha for the PR31P41 variety. For the Amik Plain, the most suitable sowing time for second-crop maize cultivation was June 20, with an optimal planting density of 9001100 plantsda. The most appropriate varieties were those in the short maturity group. In maize cultivation as a second crop under the conditions of the Amik Plain in Hatay, it is crucial to prioritize the selection of maize varieties in the short maturity group FAO 500 maturity group to achieve high grain yields. When longer maturity varieties are selected, it should be noted that while the plants may produce higher biomass, their capacity to convert dry matter into grain may be insufficient, potentially leading to reduced grain yields.

 Bu çalışma, iki farklı olgunluk grubundan DKC5747 FAO 500 ve PR31P41 FAO 650 gelen mısır Zea mays L. çeşitleri kullanılarak II-ürün koşulları altında yürütülmüştür. Farklı ekim zamanlarının 1 Haziran, 20 Haziran, 10 Temmuz ve ekim yoğunluklarının hektar başına 800, 900, 1000 ve 1100 bitki bu çeşitlerin verimi ve verim bileşenleri üzerine etkileri incelenmiştir. Amaç, mısırda Zea mays L. en yüksek verimi elde etmek için optimum olgunluk grubu, ekim zamanı ve ekim yoğunluğunu belirlemektir. Analiz edilen özellikler arasında bitki boyu cm, koçan uzunluğu cm, koçan ağırlığı gkoçan, koçan başına mısır tane sayısı mısır tanelerikoçan, tek mısır tane ağırlığı mgmısır tanesi ve koçan başına tane verimi gkoçan yer almıştır. Sonuçlar, ekim zamanının incelenen tüm özellikleri önemli ölçüde etkilediğini göstermiştir. Koçan uzunluğu, ağırlığı, koçandaki mısır tane sayısı ve koçandaki tane verimi bakımından en yüksek değerler ikinci ekim zamanında 20 Haziran elde edilirken, en düşük değerler üçüncü ekim zamanında 10 Temmuz kaydedilmiştir. DKC5747 çeşidi için optimum ekim sıklığı 900-1100 bitkiha, PR31P41 çeşidi için ise 800 bitkiha olarak belirlenmiştir. Amik Ovası için ikinci ürün mısır yetiştiriciliği için en uygun ekim zamanı 20 Haziran olup, optimum ekim yoğunluğu 900-1100 bitkida olarak belirlenmiştir. En uygun çeşitler kısa olgunluk grubunda olanlardır. Hatayın Amik Ovası koşullarında ikinci ürün olarak mısır yetiştiriciliğinde yüksek tane verimlerini elde etmek için kısa olgunluk grubunda FAO 500 olgunluk grubu mısır çeşitlerinin seçimine öncelik verilmesi büyük önem taşımaktadır. Daha uzun olgunluktaki çeşitler seçildiğinde, bitkilerin daha yüksek biyokütle üretebilmesine rağmen, kuru maddeyi taneye dönüştürme kapasitelerinin yetersiz olabileceği ve bunun da tane veriminde düşüşe yol açabileceği unutulmamalıdır.
