Özet:

In this study, the barrack building, which was built in the city center of Tunceli between 1935-1937 and was also known as Mameki Barrack at the time it was built, is discussed. The history of the building, its architectural features, functional changes, conservation problems, restoration and transformation into a city museum were examined. It developed after the construction of the barrack building in the city center. When the architectural texture of Tunceli is examined, the barrack building draws attention with its courtyard form and scale. The buildings being the first city museum of Tunceli as a cultural heritage structure, together with its architectural features, should be handled as a whole with the architectural features and history of the building and its importance should be revealed. In this study, the history, restoration and functional changes of the building were investigated. It is focused on the fact that the building, which was used as a city museum, is one of the few registered cultural assets in Tunceli and its place in the city memory. As a result, evaluations were made for the preservation of the building, taking into account its tangible and intangible values.
