Özet:

Exercise addiction is discussed in various aspects in the field of sports science. The aim of this study is to examine the addiction levels of football and basketball players who are two team sports. Personal information form and Body Exercise Addiction Scale were used in the study. The athletes included in the study consisted of football female n:30 and male n:40, basketball female n:30 and male n:40 participants. In the comparison made independent of the gender variable, it was determined that the football players had a higher addiction score than the basketball players and they were in the dependent group in both groups. In addition, it is confirmed that male shows higher addiction than female. As a result, in this study, it is determined that exercise addiction is an important risk factor in football and basketball branches which endurance is dominant. It is stated that hard loadings and intense competition periods that require intensive training can also lead to differences in the attitudes athletes towards exercise. Exercise addiction is seen as an important risk factor for athletes that should not be ignored. Therefore, athletes should be informed about exercise addiction and should be followed by their trainers.
