Özet:

Migration; It is a movement that changes the population structure and means social change. As a result of the wars between the Ottoman Empire and especially Russia, population movements from the Balkans, Crimea and the Caucasus to the Ottoman lands emerged. The Ottoman Empire, on the other hand, settled in various provinces where immigrants would not have a shortage of land and could produce in line with the targets set by the immigrants. During this period, he worked to meet the needs of immigrants. Nevertheless, the participation of the immigrant population above the expected in the migration movement and the socio-economic situation of the Ottoman Empire caused problems in the implementation of the planned policy. These problems stemmed from epidemics, security and economic issues. The problems faced by the immigrants started before they left their homeland. However, immigrants faced various problems both during and after the settlement. The immigrants could not move to permanent housing within the specified period and the economic aids provided to them were not sufficient. In addition, the problems faced by immigrants are not limited to the issue of settlement. The houses in which some immigrants would reside could not be built in time. However, immigrants, after the realization of their permanent settlements, could have problems in their lands and were exposed to the pressure of the local people. Another problem faced by immigrants is that they are settled in lands other than the climatic and geographical conditions they are used to. The immigrants reported the problems they encountered in the letters of requests and complaints sent to the Ottoman Government and officials, and requested the problems to be investigated. In this study, answers were sought in the direction of archive sources to the questions such as why the problems faced during and after the settlement process of the Crimean-Caucasus refugees who were settled in Diyarbakır and its surroundings between 1876-1914, the extent of the problems, and what consequences the problems caused. In addition, works written in the following periods were also consulted.
