Özet:

: Palestine, which declared its independence in 1988, has conflicted with Israel for years. There are many reasons underlying this conflict. These reasons range from Israels occupation to its failure to recognize international law and Palestines status as an independent state and its borders not being fully defined. The article uses the descriptive analysis method, which is one of the qualitative research methods. The subject was examined in depth from different perspectives, and an integrated conclusion was reached. This article has three main objectives. The first objective is to reveal Turkeys position since the Ottoman Empire while looking at the situation of Palestine, which has been subject to a great genocide in the 20th century, from a historical process perspective. The other objective of the article is to emphasize the fact that Palestine has been ignored by Israel despite the decisions and agreements made by the UNSC United Nations Security Council and Israels disregard for law. The final objective of the article is to evaluate the commercial potential of the relationship that Turkey can establish with Palestine. As a result of the article, it is revealed that when the historical perspective is well understood, the framework of what Turkey can do can be drawn more rationally. Of course, it is known that understanding the historical perspective correctly is important for the construction of current relations; however, it is not sufficient on its own. It is obvious that the changing balance of power and relations of interest have an important place in the Palestine-Israel issue, but it is beyond the scope of the study. The political practice of the Republic of Turkey, which has a deep-rooted history and aims to protect its supreme interests, should be continued. In addition, it is considered important and necessary to continue Turkish presence in the region.
