Henüz küçük yaşta Bîdere getirildiği ve III. Muhammed Şah 1463-1482 döneminde Hindistan İslâm devletlerinden Behmenîlerin hizmetine girdiği bilinen Türk komutan Kāsim Berîdin ele alındığı bu makalede, Berîdin ölümüne değin Behmenî Devleti içerisindeki konumu, devlet için önemi, siyasî ve askerî faaliyetleri izah edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Buna göre birinci başlıkta; Kāsım Berîdin Behmenî Devleti hizmetine girmesi ve devlet erkânı içerisindeki hızlı yükselişi, ikinci başlıkta; başlattığı isyan hareketi ve bunun neticesinde Beridşâhî Hanedanlığını kurması, üçüncü başlıkta; siyasî ve askerî hayatının başından beri en büyük rakibi olan Türk komutan Yûsuf Âdil ile mücadelesi, dördüncü başlıkta; Behmenî Devletinin sınırları üzerinde inşa edilen mahalli hanedanlıkların kurucuları ile iktidar mücadelesi ve nihayetinde son başlıkta ölümü ve şahsiyeti kaleme alınmıştır. Böylece Hindistanda kesintisiz şekilde Türk hâkimiyetinin tesis edilmesi misyonunu üstlenen önemli siyasî teşekküllerden biri olan Berîdşâhîlerin kurucusu ve isim atası olmasına karşın kaynaklarda hakkında oldukça az bilgiye yer verilen Kāsim Berîdin önemi vurgulanmaya çalışılmıştır.
