Özet:

Toshihiko Izutsu, one of the pioneers of Islamic studies in Japan, received training in linguistics and became a linguist capable of speaking more than 30 languages fluently. He succeeded in acquiring extensive knowledge in various fields of Islamic sciences, including Islam, the Quran, theology, philosophy, and Sufism, and conducted original and comprehensive research on the key concepts of the Quran. He assessed the key terms of the Quran from linguistic and semantic perspectives. Izutsu approached Quranic semantics from a unique perspective, analyzing the structure of words and their conceptual meanings through traditional, Quranic, and modern semantic approaches. This has given his work a distinctive identity. Therefore, this study will first explore Islamic Studies in Japan, Izutsus life, and his relations with the Turkish world. Following this, an examination of Izutsus works on the Quran and Islam will be presented. In the context of his work titled Allah and Man in the Quran, concepts such as Real Meaning and Related Meaning, the concepts of Allah and Revelation in terms of Real and Related Meanings, and various Philosophical Concepts will be discussed as examples. The study will conclude with an analysis and evaluation of these relevant issues.
