Özet:

In the 18th century, many nations were forced to migrate due to the influence of political movements within the empires. The people most affected by these migrations were the Balkan and Caucasian peoples. This migration, which took place over twenty years and forced nearly two million Caucasian people to leave their homeland, is one of the largest forced migration movements known in history. The Ottoman Empire, with the responsibility brought by both kinship and co-religionism, did not remain indifferent to these migrations. Nations such as Karachays and Balkars, especially Circassians, Georgians, Abkhazians, were most affected by this process, and tragic events that will never be forgotten were encountered during the migration. The Caucasian Peoples who migrated to the Ottoman lands settled in different regions in Anatolia, and a dense Caucasian Peoples population formed in cities such as Eskişehir, Sakarya, Düzce and Kocaeli. Especially the nations that brought cultural diversity to these regions made important contributions during the Republican period. They have been instrumental in the increase of education, agriculture, technology and cultural values. It is thought that this documentary project, which is planned to be carried out with the aim of researching, developing and recording the cultures living in the region, due to the location and mission of Düzce University, will have positive outcomes. For this documentary project, which was designed to contribute to the understanding of the period by researching these migrations, some of the sources were written sources, while the other important part was oral sources. The project aims to understand the nature of the events experienced by the Caucasian people, their cultural values, their lives after migration and the social changes they have undergone.
