Özet:

Akhenaton, who introduced a new belief system centered on the god Aton, spent his life in a struggle with the priests of the god Amon. This struggle was reflected to people as perhaps the most famous event in the history of Ancient Egypt. However, the struggle between the priests of Amon, who ruled most of the social life in Ancient Egypt and tried to gain a political position with their power, and other Egyptian kings was overshadowed. Amenhotep III, Akhenatons father, struggled with both the supporters of the Amon priests in the palace and the Amon priests in the temples spread across the four corners of the kingdom. Contrary to tradition, Amenhotep III did not marry one of his brothers or a member of the court and disobeyed the orders of the god Amon. In addition, he appointed military and civilian people instead of the Amon priests who had settled in important positions of the royalty, which caused problems. This study aims to explain the struggle between the priests of Amon and the Egyptian king, who tried to direct the political life during the reign of Amenhotep III, through the sources of the period.
