Özet:

The human being who is stated in the Qur’ân “perfect created” as a fit has the potential to affirm his perfection with the depth of his thoughts and the wideness of his emotions. One of his/her wide emotions is undoubtedly “love.” From the moment he falls into the womb of his/her mother, a human being who has been embraced by a love that surrounds himself will spend his/her whole life in the spiral of “love” and “waiting for love”. From his/her desire to marry and have children to the feeling of belonging as like religion, homeland and flag the underlying force of many emotions must be love. The love is a human characteristic that the mankind have tried to comprehend his nature for thousands of years. Philosophical considerations that “have taken him/her far beyond a normal psychological response to beauty” have persisted throughout history.  Before Plato who has been an effective for centuries with its evaluations of love, believed in the God of Love “Eros” due to the extraordinary nature of love.  Plato has been an activity for centuries with its evaluations of love. In fact, not only Greek philosophers like Socrates, Plato, Aristotle and Plotinus but also philosophers of ancient Indian civilization spoke of love as a high virtue and attributed meaning to it “beyond its being human’s psychological state”. In fact, it is explained as a cause of transcendent existence and as an indispensable part of human illumination since the systemization of Islamic Sufism.

Surprisingly the traces of the relationship of love and ascension are seen not only in the Islamic doctrine of Sufism but also in the Christian and Jewish sects. It is quite understandable that the Sufis wrote these works, which talk about the conditions of love and the procedures and bases of reaching the love of Allah. However, in this context (love) we come across a work that surprised us. We come across the author of a work that deals with love from many angles and makes the philosophy of love, which is neither sufi nor philosopher. The author, Abū Bakr Muḥammad Ibn Dāwūd al-Iṣfahānī (d. 297/910) (the son of Abū Sulaymān Dāwūd b. ʿAlī b. Khalaf al-Iṣfahānī al-Ẓāhirī, (d. 270/884) who believes in the need to accept religion as unjust, criticizes it with a harsh language and and the second imam of the Ẓāhirī school. The fact that Ibn Dāwūd al-Iṣfahānī, who followed in his father’s footsteps through his life-rhetoric discourse devoted a work on “love” is obviously an unexpected event for us.

In his book Kitāb al-zahra he has brought together the poems of many poets about their love and states and they have copyrighted the “love antho-logy” the first of its kind in Arabic literature. Ibn Dāwūd al-Iṣfahānī stated that he would give place to one hundred couplets (al-bayt) about each title. Although it is observed that one hundred couplets generally adhered to the idea sometimes there are more several couplets. Fifty of the hundred bâb tit-les are about the love and its conditions. While the names of the poets are mostly mentioned in the work, sometimes the couplets are mentioned directly without mentioning the name of the poet. The first title of the first volume that the author devotes to the love and states of the work has often been a logical and appropriate choice in addressing the gaze that ignited the first wick of love. Yes, it is known that the first spark to drop the fire into the he-art is looks. In his first book of love, the author included a “look”. The title of this bâb is “the more you look the longer the frustration takes”.  Ibn Dāwūd al-Iṣfahānī in order to remain pure and completely free of sentimental and shawhani (lustful) emotions requires that it is not forbidden and not for-bidden by sharia. This state, which is conceptualized as “chastity” should be worn by lovers and beloved ones. Provided that chastity is preserved, love is a acceptable and personal feeling in Sunnah by that hadith: “The one who is in love and who keeps his chastity and hides that love and dies in that state is a martyr.” This “love anthology”, which has many evaluations of love like this, deserves more in-depth and more qualified research. Because the work makes exquisite evaluations of love with quotations sometimes from verses and hadiths and sometimes from philosophers such as Plato and Galenos. He classified his poems according to his own intellectual background and turned his work into a guide of love beyond a selection of poems. As oppo-sed to the logic of fiqh, which is thought to have devoted life to shape within the norms of law, Ibn Dāwūd al-Iṣfahānī has acted with the idea that being a human is a jurisprudence of his sentimental feelings. The author stated that loving and being connected with his work as a fact of life, but still has a manners. Religion, culture, spirituality, love, respect, need and so on. There are many tastes that present to the tasteless person of modern times, who tend to exhaust everything, from the pure and genuine love of twelve centu-ries ago.

aşkın olağanüstü oluşundan hareketle Aşk tanrısı “Eros”a inanılmıştır. Hatta

izinden giden Ebû Dâvûd’un “aşk”a dair bir eser tahsis etmesi açıkçası bizim

Müellif aşka dair eserinin ilk babında “bakış”a yer vermiştir.
Çıkarları uğrunda din, kültür, maneviyat, sevgi, saygı, ihtiyaç vb. her şeyi
tüketme eğiliminde olan hali hazır modern zamanların zevksiz insanına, on iki
asır öncesinin halis ve hasbî aşkından tattıracağı nice tatlar vardır.
