Özet:

Family and work life are two fundamental domains that shape individuals social roles, and the balance between these domains directly affects overall life satisfaction. This study aims to examine the relationship between job satisfaction and family harmony among women employed in the banking sector in Kayseri, Türkiye. The research findings reveal a statistically significant relationship between job satisfaction and family harmony. Among the women included in the sample, only 33 reported satisfaction with their working conditions, while 36 were dissatisfied and 31 were undecided. These results support the hypotheses proposed in the study. The research was designed within the framework of the descriptive survey model, one of the quantitative research methods. The study population consists of female employees working in public and private banks within the boundaries of Kayseri province. The sample was determined using the convenience sampling method, and participation was based on voluntary consent. Data were collected through a three-part questionnaire. The measurement tools used in the study were previously developed and had undergone validity and reliability testing.Within this context, the study interprets work-family interaction not merely as an individual choice but as a phenomenon deeply intertwined with socially constructed gender roles. Drawing upon symbolic interactionism and feminist theory, the study offers a meaningful theoretical contribution. Notably, no prior research has addressed the relationship between job satisfaction and family harmony among women in the banking sector within this specific population. Thus, the study fills a significant gap in the literature and also provides practical data that can guide the development of gender-sensitive workplace policies. 301 female personnel working in banks formed the research sample and the data were analyzed and interpreted in SPSS 27 program.
