Özet:

Autobiographies, in which feelings, thoughts, experiences and impressions are shared in a personal narrative, are important writings that reveal a writers literary personality. This study examines Palestinian writer Jabrā Ibrahim Jabrās impressions of Baghdad in the fifties in his autobiography Shāriul-Amīrāt. Jabrās experience of exile and his literary career are emphasized in the study. Jabrā was forced to leave his homeland during the Arab-Israeli conflict and lived abroad for many years, including Egypt, Lebanon and the United States. This experience of exile had a profound impact on the author and shaped his literary career. The authors diverse interests and talents reflect the intellectual and cultural richness of the time, showing how political, social and cultural values clashed and interacted. A number of Iraqi figures whose lives intersect with the authors are mentioned in the work. They have been leaders in politics, economics, administration and education, and have made significant contributions to Iraqs development. Also included are his colleagues, friends, students and various cultural activities that influenced the modernizing society. The importance of the great love that Jabrā experienced in his life as a writer is also discussed in this work. All these elements constitute an important part of modern Iraqi history. On the other hand, this study emphasizes the contribution of the street named Shāriul-Amīrāt Princesses Street to the history and social transformation of Iraq, especially Jabrās literary career.
