Özet:

There is interdependence between Türkiye and NATO in terms of security. Security relations in the triangle of Türkiye, Greece and NATO contain both security and relations that are not based on trust. Greece and Türkiye have many problems among themselves in the historical process, from the Aegean Islands to the Eastern Mediterranean, from the Western Thrace Problem to the Cyprus Problem. This historical conflict leads the two states in the regional equation to more armament in the context of security and to a strategy of gaining power by finding more allies. The struggle for power and interests between Greece and Türkiye are important factors that motivate these two states to join the EU and NATO. The local and regional security problems experienced by both states necessitated the participation of these two countries in NATO. In the study, the rivalry of Türkiye and Greece in NATO was discussed and the place of this rivalry in the security dilemma between the two countries was analysed. The reason for choosing the concept of security dilemma is that there are too many problems between the two countries and they follow policies based on distrust. The steps taken by Greece and Türkiye for their own security are mutually perceived as a threat and lead to a security dilemma.
