Özet:

The features and functions of dance have been discussed in many ways and have been the focus of attention of researchers. One of these features is the healing feature of dance. Research in which the findings obtained from laboratory experiments and social observations take an active role are very important in testing the functions of dance. In this study, limited information is conveyed in a way that will bring the researcher closer to the subject with the data obtained through literature review and participant observation. Shamanism, which takes place in the origin debates of Turkish folk dances, continues today by being updated with dance therapy. In this respect, Turkish folk dances can be examined under the headings of folk medicine as a type of dance. In this article, the common points between the concepts of Turkish folk dances, dance therapy and folk medicine will be discussed.
