Özet:

The study focuses on the studies based on the perception of visitors in museums and museum spaces that have been visited for both historical and both cultural reasons. The aim of this study is to determine the function and perception of museums, which are the places that we actively benefit from in terms of education, culturally and socially since the 18th century, through studies conducted in our country in the last two decades. The reason for limiting the research in the last twenty years is to be able to determine the current situation and to interpret the effects of the age of technology in this field as of 2000s. The study was designed with qualitative method and literature review technique was utilized. The researches based on the perception of the museum are gathered under three headings: Studies on Education Perception, Studies on the Experience and Service Quality in Museums and Studies on the Effects of Environmental Factors on Museum Perception with the data obtained from this study.According to the findings the study, it is concluded that with the developing technology and current requirements, the museums do not meet the expectations as exhibited or protected places, and there are changes in museum concept, museum spaces and therefore museum perception.
