Özet:

In this study, various macroeconomic and sectoral conditions that have an impact on the participation of the Private Pension System PPS during the Covid-19 pandemic were empirically examined. In the results of the time series models, which are applied in the research, the effects of high inflation experienced in the economy during the Covid-19 pandemic period can be observed. Economic decision-making mechanisms such as consumption expectations and savings plans, which are included in the PPS participation dynamics, are ineffective due to the current high inflation environment. For the PPS participation to have a real economic value rather than being a nominal indicator, the main macroeconomic indicators should be in a long-term stable balance. It can be predicted that the interest in private pensions will increase as the uncertainty created by the Covid-19 process fades away and the high energy prices, which put pressure on household expenses, are stabilized.
