Özet:

In Turkey, the state policy to increase the
population has been implemented since 2008. Various regulations related to the
policy were made in 2008, 2011 and 2015. The purpose of this study is to reveal
the reflections of the population increase policy of the state or population
increase incentives. For this purpose, a questionnaire was administered to
pregnant women who visit Department of Obstetrics at two different hospitals:
Fırat University Hospital and University of Health Sciences Elazığ Education
and Research Hospital. Based on the descriptive data, it was determined that
82% of the mother candidates were under 35 years of age, 26% of them have
primary school, 23% secondary school, 20% high school and 25% university
degree. A significant finding reflecting the profile characteristics of
participants was that 84% were not working. Although the level of education and
family income were not high, it was determined that the spouses shared the same
opinion in terms of the number of children they wanted to have, 71% of the
pregnancies were planned, and 63% of the mothers wanted to have three or more
children. In the study, it was found that economic concerns were important but
not considered as a limitation for families who wanted three or more children.
Another noteworthy result is that there is very little gender determination on
the number of children. In other words, the idea of “we keep trying until we
have a boy/girl” is quite weak.  Within
the scope of the study, it was determined that the participants were most aware
of the birth incentives. While 42% of them believe that government incentives
are effective in increasing the population, 42% find it ineffective and 16%
have been undecided.

Anne
adaylarının % 42’si devlet teşviklerinin nüfusu arttırmada etkili olduğuna
inanırken % 42’si ise etkisiz bulmaktadır. % 16’sı ise bu konuda karasız
kalmıştır.
