Özet:

The aim of this study is to examine the place and importance of the concept of marriage in Turkish and Kyrgyz cultures. The scope of the study deals with the unique features and traditions related to marriage, which are formed under the influence of historical, religious, social and moral factors. As in all Turkic peoples, family is of great importance in Kyrgyz and Turkic societies. Marriage is one of the most important and fundamental events in Turkish society. Marriage is an inseparable bond in the social structure of society and also symbolizes the union of two souls and the establishment of a family. Marriage in Turkish and Kyrgyz culture has its own unique rituals and customs, which are formed under the influence of historical, religious, social and moral factors. Despite the differences in the approach to marriage in Turkish and Kyrgyz culture, what is common in both cases is that marriage symbolizes the union of two people based on love, mutual understanding and respect. Marriage unites society, strengthens family values and forms the basis for the birth and education of future generations. As a method, folk products such as marriage rituals and proverbs of Turkish and Kyrgyz peoples were analyzed and compared. The research emphasized how marriage is a binding element in these cultures and how it contributes to the social structure of society. As a result, the profound effects of the concept of marriage on both individual relationships and social structure have been revealed and the importance of marriage for understanding the history, traditions and values of these peoples has been emphasized.
