Özet:

The Mühimme books, which serve as official records, contain copies of imperial edicts firmans issued following the sultans approval of matters resolved in the Ottoman Imperial Council Divân-ı Hümâyun. Due to their content, these registers are of significant interest to various fields of historical research. The Divân-ı Hümâyun, where the Mühimme books were maintained, functioned as the empires highest decision-making body. Within this council, numerous political, social, military, legal, and economic issues were discussed and finalized. Moreover, these registers are valuable sources for understanding the administrative and military interactions, operational procedures, and functions of both the central and provincial institutions of the Ottoman Empire. This particular study focuses on entries 1 through 154 of Mühimme books No. 54. The register, housed in the Ottoman Archives of the Directorate of State Archives of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey under the catalog number A.DVN.MHM, d.054, dates back to the reign of Sultan Murad III 15741595, specifically to the year 992 AH 1584 AD. It predominantly contains rulings related to the manorial tımar system, including the assignment and implementation of timars. The main objective of this study is to shed light on the functioning and allocation processes of the manorial timar system, which held a crucial place within the Ottoman administrative and military structure. Based on the data contained within the examined register, it becomes possible to gain insights into how this system operated and was practically applied in the Ottoman state.

Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Cumhurbaşkanlığı Devlet Arşivleri Başkanlığı Osmanlı Arşivinde A.DVN.MHM, d.054 numarayla kayıtlı, III. Murat 1574-1595 dönemine husul bulan defter, H.992M.1584 genellikle tımar sistemi, tımar tevcihi ve tatbikiyle ilgilidir. İncelemede, 54 numaralı mühimme defterinin ağırlıklı konusu ve Osmanlı Devletinde mühim bir yere haiz, tımar sisteminin işleyişi ve uygulamasına dair bilgiye ulaşmak kabil olmaktadır. Etüt edilen defterdeki mevcut veriler ışığında, Osmanlı Devletinde büyük bir öneme sahip tımar sisteminin işleyişi ve tımar tevcihi hakkında bilgi vermek temel amaç edinilmiştir.
