Özet:

Situations such as a translation having a significant material error that will change the meaning constitute an important problem in hadith research. In this article, the Turkish translations of a famous hadith which mentions the divine protection of a person who performs the morning prayer has been put under scrutiny in a total of thirty-two Turkish hadith translation and commentary works. The meaning of the hadith was determined in the light of the explanations in the commentaries, the information in the different narrations of the hadith, the titles of the chapters in which the hadith is included and other hadiths related to the hadith in question. Accordingly, in the hadith, not harming a person performing the morning prayer has been identified as the primary meaning, and not abandoning the morning prayer has been identified as a possible secondary meaning. However, it has been seen that in some translations of the hadith, a meaning is given that is completely far from the aforementioned meaning, such as Allah Almighty not wanting a price in return for this protection.
