Özet:

Almost all nationalist movements in the world have been nourished by language and history, and have aimed to turn to the people and revive the values they keep alive, thus repairing their national identities. This is also the case for the Turkish nationalism movement. The pioneers of the idea of nationalism also turned to the Turkish language, history and people and tried to benefit from these sources. Ziya Gökalp from Diyarbakır, one of the pioneers of the idea of Turkish nationalism and one of those who systematized this idea, educated himself very well according to the conditions of the age he lived in and produced many works despite all the difficulties he experienced in his short life of 48 years. Gokalp; He has qualities such as newspaper writer, socialist, philosopher, intellectual and thinker, and a scholar and lecturer who brought the science of sociology to Turkey. He is a Turkist who considers the benefits of the Turkish nation in all his works and is a faithful intellectual who dedicates and organizes his private life according to his thoughts. He pondered over all kinds of problems of the Turkish nation, meanwhile, like a linguist, he dealt with the problems of Turkish in almost every field of linguistics, produced solutions and showed the way. He is a language policy expert who determines what the state should do regarding the issue and how intellectuals and artists should act to give the right results. He is an etymologist with his studies on etymology. He is a phonics, morphology and sentence specialist who studies the grammar of the language. He thinks that liquidationism in the language is not right and he is not disturbed by the existence of loan words used in the public language, but he thinks that a foreign word with a synonym in Turkish should not be used. He specifically focuses on the issue of terminology and advises people to refer to it to express new concepts and information for the society, to go to historical texts if they are not available there, and to derive words according to the rules of the language if they are not available there. He is against the use of foreign language rules, Arabic and Persian phrases, and foreign plural forms.
