Özet:

The Salafi school, with its activities and roles within the Islamic sphere, presents itself as a significant phenomenon that warrants investigation and scrutiny. It is essential to study the intellectual currents that have made Salafi thought and Salafism a reference point, along with the controversies and divisions that have arisen, even within its internal ranks. Additionally, it is crucial to examine the societal ramifications and the perceptions it has left on non-Muslims, which have contributed to a negative portrayal of Islam. Moreover, the colonial powers have exploited these movements to hinder the spread of Islam. Therefore, it is imperative to analyze the origins, intellectual sources, representatives, theories, and the impact of Salafi ideology, particularly its role in the decline and division of the Ottoman Empire, as well as its collaboration with colonial powers. Furthermore, it is essential to evaluate misconceptions and accurate assessments regarding this subject. The scope of inquiry can be further expanded, potentially serving as the basis for numerous doctoral dissertations. In this article, we aim to provide a concise overview of these matters, hoping to stimulate further research in a broader and more academically rigorous context.
