Özet:

Türkiye nominated its film Miracle in Cell No. 7 as a candidate for the Best International Feature category at the 93rd Academy Awards held in 2019. Türkiyes submission of the South Korean remake to an international festival has led to questioning the position of the South Korean film industry Hallyuwood in Türkiye. This study is essential as it is the first research to extensively explore the concept of Hallyuwood in the national literature and examine the impact of South Korean cinema from various dimensions. The study examines the position of Hallyuwood in Turkish cinema in two dimensions: the first dimension includes remake films from South Korea, while the second dimension focuses on original South Korean films screened in Türkiye. The findings indicate that Hallyuwoods impact in Türkiye has expanded, particularly through digital platforms. Türkiye has imported films from Hallyuwood in various genres, including fiction, animation, and documentary cinema. The majority of South Korean originals and remakes include two genres of topics, drama, and thriller. Furthermore, the findings of this study revealed a greater preference for remake films over the original South Korean films.

Türkiye, 2019 yılında gerçekleşen 93. Akademi Ödüllerine En İyi Uluslararası Film ödülü kategorisinde kendisini temsil etmesi için 7. Koğuştaki Mucizeyi aday adayı göstermiştir. Söz konusu filmin, Lee Hwan-Kyung yönetmenliğinde çekilen 2013 yapımı 7 Beon-bangui Seon-mul isimli Güney Kore filminden yeniden çevrim olması çıkan tartışmaların odak noktası olmuştur. Türkiyenin uluslararası alanda bilinirliği olan bir festivale Güney Koreden yeniden çevrilen bir filmi göndermesi Güney Kore film endüstrisinin Hallyuwood Türkiyedeki durumunun sorgulanmasını sağlamıştır. Dolayısıyla Hallyuwoodun Türkiyedeki konumu nedir? sorusu, bu çalışmanın ana problemini oluşturmaktadır. Çalışma, yerli alanyazında Hallyuwood kavramını ilk kez detaylı kullanan araştırma olması ve Güney Kore sinemasının etkenliğini çok yönlü ortaya çıkarması açısından önem taşımaktadır. Çalışmada, Hallyuwoodun Türk sinemasındaki konumu iki boyutta incelenmiştir. İlki; Güney Koreden yeniden çevrilen filmler ve ikincisi Güney Kore menşeili ithal filmlerdir. Bu çerçevede çalışmanın evrenini, Güney Kore yeniden çevrim filmleri ve yayınlanan orijinal Güney Kore filmleri; örneklemiyse Türkiyede 2005-2022 yılları aralığında gösterilen filmler oluşturmuştur. Çalışma kapsamında filmler betimsel içerik analiziyle incelenmiştir. Ulaşılan bulgular neticesinde, Hallyuwoodun Türkiyede etkenliğinin özellikle dijital platformlar aracılığıyla genişlediği; filmlerin kurmaca, canlandırma ve belgesel sinema alanında çeşitli türleri barındırdığı, dram ve gerilim türünde yapımların film konularında ağırlıklı olarak ithal edildiği, yeniden çevrim filmlerin Güney Kore menşeili filmlere oranla arz-talep kapsamında daha fazla tercih edildiği görülmüştür.
