Özet:

One of the characteristics of digital art is its dependence on electronic-based technology that uses computer algorithms to obtain, store, process and present information or data. However, considering the benefits of rapidly developing information technology, which is the general characteristic of the age we live in, it can be said that this dependency is not very restrictive. Digital technologies, which develop rapidly, are increasingly used in every field, and enable the formation of a new cultural structure, bring new possibilities to existing art productions in terms of materials, techniques and methods. In addition, by enriching the conceptual basis of art productions and expanding the scope of traditional art forms, it causes digital art to have its own autonomous field by exceeding the limits of this scope. This assessment of digital art aims to examine the new possibilities that digital art brings to contemporary art, as well as its structural features, through examples based on the technology that embodies the characteristics of digital art, owing to its dependence on hardware and software in the creative process.
