Özet:

Studies on the reflection of the internship process on learning experiences also point to failures in terms of the degree to which the internship serves its purpose. Although there are examples where internship processes have been intensively studied in the fields of education, tourism and health, evaluations in the field of textile and fashion design are rather limited. In this context, the aim of this study was to investigate, in a valid and reliable way, the views of students of the Department of Textile and Fashion Design on compulsory summer internships and to show how these views change in relation to the independent variables highlighted in the literature. Data were collected from a total of 201 participants, reaching a large proportion of the second, third and fourth year students who had completed their compulsory summer internship at a state university, and the potential variables that could explain the views on the internship were examined using appropriate parametric tests. While positive attitudes were generally observed, it was observed that these attitudes did not vary according to gender, class, receiving wages or catering services from the internship institution; on the other hand, it was observed that the perception of competence regarding the education received in the undergraduate program could significantly explain the positive attitudes towards the internship.
