Özet:

Jacques Ibert 1890-1962, one of the leading composers of 20th-century French music, holds a significant place in the flute repertoire. His Flute Concerto, composed in 1932, is among the most frequently chosen concertos by flutists. As with any work, in order to perform this piece professionally, it is essential to understand the composers musical language, analyze the piece, and identify its specific elements. Therefore, it is crucial to have knowledge of the composers life, the characteristics of the era in which he lived, and the musicians and movements that influenced him. In this study, an extensive literature review has been conducted to provide information about the composers life and musical language. The Flute Concerto, which is considered to be of a high level of difficulty, has been analyzed musically in terms of form and harmonic structure, followed by performance recommendations for those who will interpret the work. Unfortunately, there are very few Turkish sources about Ibert, a composer who stood out in his time with his musical language and diverse works. Therefore, this article aims to provide Turkish sources on Ibert and his well-known concerto for musicians and researchers, in addition to contributing to flute performers.
