Özet:

Women’s employment is vital for nations’ economic and social development and plays an important role in developing economies. Women’s position in Turkish society is in the background in terms of labor and women are not paid what they deserve. Although women in employment has been on the rise in Turkey recently, this trend have not met the expectations. There are gaps in country and regional levels due to different socio-economic indicators. Increasing women employment and minimizing the inter-industrial gaps in TR62 Çukurova Region is believed to directly and indirectly affect the region’s development. This aims to analyze and compare TR62’s situation, which is believed to entail a higher ratio of women employment in education, to Turkey. For this reason, education levels and weighted economic job sectors have been taken into account.
