Özet:

Field research was conducted in AntalyaDöşemealtı, Manavgat, Akseki, and AntalyaKaleiçi between 2011-2014 to examine prayer rugs, which have religious significance for Anatolian people. Ten prayer rug prayer mat weaving examples belonging to different regions were analyzed in terms of pattern, color, raw material, weaving techniques, and composition features. The aim was to prevent the loss of these weavings, which is a common problem in other weaving examples. The study supported the literature information with information obtained from sources, presenting an analysis of weaving techniques, raw materials, and patterns used in the prayer rugs. The research provides valuable insight into the significance of prayer rugs in Turkish art and culture and helps to preserve traditional hand-woven textiles for future generations. The findings of the study can also contribute to the development of new techniques in the production of prayer rugs, which can help revive the traditional hand-weaving industry.
