Özet:

In general, migration caused by industrialisation and urbanisation, reflections of changing socio-economic conditions, poverty, social transformation, and ecological change are among the topics of interest in literature. Like many social phenomena, literature is affected by the dynamics that determine the course of social structural change. One of the fields of literature, where social change, processes, and battles become visible, is poetry. While the social context reflected in poetry is shaped according to the poets worldview, the inclusion of the themes of working life and labour in the poetry of poets who deal with the struggle against economic and social inequality from an artistic perspective is shaped by the social and political environment of the time. In this context, social inequalities, workers search for rights, strikes, the demands for social change, and making the world more liveable around the phenomenon of labour entered the field of socialist realist literature. Therefore, it should be noted that socialist realist literature contains detailed data for social analysis. This article examines the poems of two poets with a socialist worldview, Nazım Hikmet and Attila İlhan, who reflected the social structure and transformation of Turkey in their poems by including the axis of labour and working life in different historical periods and with universal dimensions, through the method of textual analysis. Certain themes have been identified in the poems of the poets, and the projections of labour and working life have been evaluated within the framework of these themes.
