Özet:

Marriage customs, which are among the social practices from areas of intangible cultural heritages, are seen as an effective carrier of cultural memory. Population growth and the constant transformation of generations make this transitional period customs active. Marriage rituals that constantly evolve from the past to the present are passed down from generation to generation. Marriage is a long process that brings with it many practices, which are closely monitored by the families, relatives, and acquaintances of the bride and groom. In this study, the marriage customs of Akköy, a village in the Termal district of Yalova, were documented through surveys, interviews, and observations. The customs were analyzed in three phases: before the wedding, during the wedding, and after the wedding. The aim was to examine how these practices have changed and transformed from the past to the present.
