Özet:

Stonecutters marks, divided into two groups, namely those indicating the identity of the person who carved the stone and those indicating the place where the stone was to be used, can provide important information about the construction process of buildings. Their use in ancient and European medieval architecture has been partially discussed. As Stonecutters marks have been frequently used in Anatolian Seljuk architecture, they have the potential to shed light on the construction process of this periods architecture. However, they remain unknown because they have not received sufficient attention in the literature on Anatolian-Turkish architecture. For example, although İncir Khan, one of the most important buildings of the Gıyaseddin Keyhusrev II period, located in the Bucak district of Burdur, is discussed many times in the literature, the stonemasons marks found in the building have not been recorded. This paper makes a compilation of stonecutter marks recorded by field studies in other buildings and documented in the existing literature to compare with the stonemasonry marks in İncir Hanı in an effort to evaluated them in terms of the construction process of the building and the nature of stonemasonry marks in Anatolian Turkish architecture.

Taşı yontan kişinin kimliğini belirten işaretler ve taşın kullanılacağı yeri gösteren işaretler olarak iki grup altında toplanan taşçı işaretlerinin Antik dönem ve Avrupa Orta Çağ mimarilerindeki kullanım amaçları kısmen de olsa aydınlatılmış ve yapıların inşa süreçlerine ilişkin önemli veriler sunabilecekleri kanıtlanmıştır. Anadolu Selçuklu dönemi mimarisinde de sıklıkla kullanıldığı anlaşılan taşçı işaretleri, dönem mimarisinin inşa sürecine ilişkin bilinmezlere ışık tutma potansiyeline sahip olmasına rağmen Anadolu Türk mimarisi literatüründe yeterli düzeyde yer bulamadığı için bilinmezliğini korumaktadır. Burdurun Bucak ilçesinde bulunan ve II. Gıyaseddin Keyhusrev döneminin önemli yapılarından olan İncir Hanı da literatürde pek çok kez konu edinilmiş olmasına rağmen yapıda bulunan taşçı işaretleri, kayıt altına alınmamıştır. Yapılan bu çalışmada İncir Hanı dışında başka yapılarda da saha çalışmalarıyla kayıt altına alınan işaretler ile mevcut literatürde belgelenmiş taşçı işaretleri bir araya getirilmiş, İncir Hanındaki taşçı işaretleriyle kıyaslanarak yapının inşa süreci ve Anadolu Türk mimarisinde taşçı işaretlerinin mahiyeti hakkında değerlendirme yapılmıştır.
