Özet:

Background: It is thought that psychological violence against women may increase with Covid 19. Objective: This research was conducted to determine the relationship between the level of psychological violence against married women and their attitudes towards violence during the pandemic. Method: The sample of this descriptive correlational research consists of 314 women. The research was conducted on an online platform in a city center located in the southeast of Turkey. The sample size was calculated with the GPower program. The data obtained via Demografic Information Form, Psychological Maltreatment of Women Inventory PMWI and Attitudes Towards Domestic Violence Scale ATDVS. Descriptive statistics, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal Wallis test and Spearman correlation analysis were used in statistical analysis. Results: The mean PMWI mistreatment, restriction, jealousy, and criticism subscales scores were respectively 41.0718.90, 13.125.72, 6.283.43, 6.012.84 and ATDVS mean score was 20.36 5.85. A statistically significant difference was found between increasing housework in the pandemic and PMWI mistreatment and criticism subscales mean score p.001, p.05. In addition, a weak positive correlation was determined between all subscales of PMWI and the total mean score of ATDVS. Conclusion: The Covid 19 pandemic caused a partial increase in the level of psychological violence against women and the increase in the level of psychological violence against women has caused to adopt a negative attitude towards violence in women.
