Özet:

This study examined 1.046 tourism-related newspaper articles published between 1930 and 2022 about Türkiyes Bursa province, which was selected as the research area. In these newspaper articles, we investigated the problems caused by tourism, the obstacles to tourism development, and other related problems. The news contents underwent analysis using qualitative research approaches, employing thematic and content analysis as the chosen analytical methods. The data gathered was classified based on its spatial and temporal aspects. The research findings revealed that the problem frequencies within the provincial border of Bursa experienced historical changes and also varied at the destination scale. Although media sources have a general ideological tendency, no such questioning was carried out in this study. The aim of this research is to determine the problems of tourism, which is a social, spatial, and economic phenomenon, and the factors that cause these problems. For this reason, both national and local newspapers were evaluated.
