Özet:

Abbasid Caliph Nasir-Lidinillah made agreements with various sects and religions in order to ensure national unity and gain the support of the people, and pushed the governments established in different parts of the Islamic world to fight each other. He also used Sufism to bind the people to himself and organized the Futuwwa movement and became the leader of this movement. He managed to bind the Batini followers, who carried out many political assassinations during his period, to himself. It is also recorded in the historical sources of the period that the Caliph showed interest in Shiism in order to ensure the support of Shiites, who constitute the majority of Iraq. In our study, the pros and cons of the strategies implemented by the Abbasid Caliph Nasir-Lidinillah in foreign policy were evaluated gradually. Since Nasser-Lidnillahs 46-year government represented a period when the Islamic world was divided and exposed to external attacks, the strategies followed by the caliph are of particular importance for this period. The foreign policy he followed during the Abbasid caliphate was shaped according to the general political atmosphere of the Islamic world and the events of the period. Nasser Lidnillah, who is also known for his religious and social policies, developed new strategies to bring together Muslim communities and ensure social unity.
