Özet:

Undoubtedly, one of the most important factors in enriching literature and making it possible to carry it to a universal dimension is translation activity. Therefore, transferring a text to a different language in line with the values created by the artist ensures that it exists in a different culture in an ideological and social context. At this point, Yevgeni Zamyatins work We, which was written in 1920 and reflects the negative effects of the new state order created after the revolution, has great importance. The translations of the work, in which people lose their identity by becoming mechanized, the basic rights and freedoms are taken away, and the oppressive policies of the single state phenomenon are handled with all their nakedness, are also important in spreading the ideology within the current order and revealing the social order with all its clarity. We, one of the first examples of the anti-utopia genre, undoubtedly inspired many writers who wrote works in this genre through translations. Translation, which can also be considered as the re-creation of nature in the spirit of a work, is of great importance in terms of seeing how the social and ideological phenomena existing in the work are transferred from the pen of different translators in different cultures. Starting from this point, the first translations of the work titled We from English and then from Russian to Turkish in different years will be discussed on a comparatively social and ideological level. The aim of the study is to determine the differences between the first translations of the work from the two languages mentioned to Turkish, to draw attention to the translators style, to make a comparative description of the social and ideological elements in the target language, especially in the translations made from different languages.
