Özet:

Forgetting is an inherent feature of human beings. This feature can sometimes contribute positively to human life and sometimes cause negative consequences. In four verses of the Qurʾān, Almighty Allāh mentions that Satan makes people forget to do the good and right behavior. Accordingly, if the devil can interfere with the will of man, the following questions can be asked: Does the man make some decisions against his will? Don't they have free will? How does Satan affect the man's will? Does the devil have extraordinary powers that make them forget something that man does not want to forget? The fact that some of the people whom Satan made him forget were prophets opens the door to a separate discussion. While some commentators say that his umma is mentioned in the person of the prophets in the relevant verses, some commentators stated that it is normal for the prophets to forget in terms of their human characteristics. In this article, the nature of forgetting and how the devil affects human will be examined and the findings will be shared. In addition, the reasons that affect the devil to make people forget to do good things and avoid bad behavior will be revealed and ways to avoid this will be determined. Keywords: Tafsīr, Quran, forget, cause of forgetting, will, Satan, delusion.

Anahtar Kelimeler: Tefsir, Kur'an, Unutma, Unutturma, İrade, Şeytan, Vesvese.
