Özet:

The concept of parliament emerged with the French Revolution of 1789. Many of the terms we use today are products of that era. While Europe was going through this process, the Ottoman Empire tried to keep up with the developments in Europe with the reforms it made in the 18th and 19th centuries. With the declaration of the First Constitutional Monarchy in 1876, the people participated in the administration, although not fully. Although the process was interrupted at certain times, the parliamentary system has become inevitable in the country. In 1920, the closure of the parliament in Istanbul gave the opportunity to open a new parliament in Ankara. With this new process, the Turkish Grand National Assembly period began on April 23, 1920. In this study, the form of the general elections held in Turkey from 1920 to 1950, the preparations made, the studies across the country, and their reflections in Diyarbakır were examined in a general framework.
