Özet:

This study aims to determine the hybrid preference used by producers producing eggs in the free-range system in Hatay province, the factors affecting this age, vaccination and beak trimming, the supply method, egg marketing and the general problems encountered. The study was conducted by conducting a face-to-face survey in 26 enterprises producing in a free-range system. The majority of the enterprises 84.6 produce by purchasing pullets. It was observed that 38.46 of the producers market eggs to markets, 19.23 directly to consumers and 3.85 wholesale. At the same time 50 of the enterprises continue their production with the genotype they purchased when they first started production in each production period. Low egg production 30.77, eggshell color preference of consumers 26.92, feather pulling feature 23.08 and high feed consumption 15.38 were the main reasons for enterprises to change genotypes. In the supply of animal material, 84.6 of the enterprises buy pullets at the age of 12 to 17 weeks, 11.5 buy chicks at the age of three days, and 1.0 follow a way of hatching their chicks as a result of the hatching process. While 76.9 of the enterprises use their coops at full capacity, 23.1 do not use their coops at full capacity due to economic reasons. The most common problems reported by producers were continuous fluctuations in egg prices 22.62, high feed or raw material prices 28.57, and initial investment costs 15.48.
