Özet:

Abidin Pasha d. 1906 is one of the important statesmen who grew up in the last period of the Ottoman Empire. Abidin Pasha, who was born in Preveza in 1843, served in different commissions established in the capital Istanbul, in addition to his duties as district governor and mutasarrıf in the Ottoman Empire. During these duties, he also served as governor in cities such as Adana, Sivas, Ankara, Thessaloniki and Algeria. He is also the grandfather of Abidin Dino d. 1993, one of the important artists of our country. Abidin Pasha, whose name is given to a district in memory of his governorship in Ankara, is a statesman known not only for his administrative qualities but also for his scientific works. One of his best-known works is his commentary on Mevlânâ Celâleddîn-i Rûmîs famous work Mesnevi. Abidin Pasha was not satisfied with this work alone, but also wrote works in some areas he deemed necessary from time to time. Perhaps one of his most interesting works that reflects his scientific side is the refutation he wrote. Abidin Pasha touched upon important issues in his refutation titled Alem-i İslâmiyyet Müdâfaa, which he wrote against the work called el-Ecvibetül-Kurâniyye alel-esiletil-Mesîhiyye, written by a priest in Egypt. In this article, Abidin Pashas life, works and the subjects he discussed in these works will be touched upon.
