Özet:

This study will investigate the relationship between form and content in sculpture, between image and thought. In our age, art has developed new form languages and production methods while moving from classical sculpture understanding to contemporary building understanding with the diversity of ideas and forms. The main reasons for innovative steps are wars, artists keeping up with the developing technology and being influenced by new philosophical thought systems. One of the 20th centurys most controversial philosophical ideas is the deconstructionist method, known for its critical discourse focused on the structure of texts. Productions in the field of art that develop under the influence of this thought, eclectic experiments and contemporary form applications and interpretations made in the postmodern understanding shape todays art. With the developments, art has succeeded in reaching all areas of society from the autonomous environment and has increased the discussions and examinations on the problem of understanding, meaning, symbol and concept of works of art. From the beginning of modern art to todays postmodern period, we witness that artists have produced works in different forms and methods. This does not mean a lack of identity in art, and the fact that artists constantly try new things and at the same time use the intellectual infrastructure required by their age has personalized them. Thus, it is concluded that the artist constantly researches and changes hisher attitude in order for the art object heshe creates to have a form or concept. Since the artist does not limit both the material and content of his work, he has contributed to the development of art by evolving and producing his point of view through common disciplines.
