Özet:

The main purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between personality traits and cognitive flexibility of adult individuals. The sample group of the study consisted of 424 individuals between the ages of 18-50, of whom 235 55.4 were female and 189 44.6 were male. Five Factor Personality Scale, Cognitive Flexibility Inventory and Personal Information Form prepared by the researchers were used as data collection tools. Independent Sample t-test, One-Way Analysis of Variance ANOVA and Pearson Correlation Analysis were used to analyse the data. According to the findings obtained from the research, it was determined that there was a negative relationship between the alternatives and control dimensions of cognitive flexibility and neuroticism among personality sub-dimensions, and a positive and significant relationship between extraversion, mildness and self-control. The findings of the study were discussed and interpreted within the framework of the related literature.
