 Today, due to changing living conditions, individuals tend to give a lot of space to sports in their lives. When this situation is supported by visualization, which is a mental process that is visualized visually in the mind, it helps the athlete to create a positive self-perception and provides psychological benefits such as coping with anxiety and gaining self-confidence. The aim of the research was to reveal the metaphorical perceptions of sports sciences faculty students towards the concept of imagery. The study group consists of 91 students between the ages of 18-30 who continue their education in sports science faculties at different universities in Turkey. Data is Imagination is like ... because ... . It was obtained from the information on the paper filled out by the participants containing the sentence. Content analysis method was used to analyze and interpret the data. In this research, the data were analyzed under the headings of coding and extraction, category creation, validity and reliability and interpretation of data, taking into account the content analysis stages. The 82 metaphors produced by the students of the faculty of sports sciences for the concept of imagination were grouped according to their similar characteristics and were grouped in 5 different categories under the names of Nature and Universe, Sensuousness, Man-Made, Sportsmanship and Guidance. It is seen that the most used concepts among the metaphors produced by the students of the faculty of sports sciences are Training, Dream, Rain, Spark, Mirror and Seed.

 Günümüzde değişen yaşam koşulları nedeniyle bireyler yaşamlarında spora oldukça fazla yer verme eğilimindedirler. Bu durum zihinde görsel olarak canlandırma yapılan zihinsel bir süreç olan imgelemeyle desteklendiğinde sporcunun kendisiyle ilgili olumlu benlik algısı oluşturmasına yardımcı olmasıyla beraber kaygıyla baş edebilme ve kendine güven duyma gibi psikolojik faydalar sağlamaktadır. Yapılan araştırmada spor bilimleri fakültesi öğrencilerinin imgeleme kavramına yönelik metaforik algılarını ortaya çıkarmak amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma grubunu Türkiyenin farklı üniversitelerinde spor bilimleri fakültelerinde öğrenimlerine devam eden 18-30 yaş aralığına sahip 91 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Veriler İmgeleme ... gibidir, çünkü ... dır. cümlesinin bulunduğu katılımcılar tarafından doldurulan kağıt üzerindeki bilgilerden elde edilmiştir. Verilerin analiz ve yorumlamasında içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Bu araştırmada veriler içerik analizi aşamaları dikkate alınarak kodlama ve ayıklama, kategori oluşturma, geçerlik güvenirlik ve verilerin yorumlanması başlıkları altında analiz edilmiştir. Spor bilimleri fakültesi öğrencilerinin imgeleme kavramına yönelik üretmiş olduğu 82 metafor benzer özelliklerine göre oluşturulan gruplama sonucunda Doğa ve Evren, Duyuşsallık, İnsan Yapımı, Sportmenlik ve Rehberlik adı altında 5 adet farklı kategoride toplanmıştır. Spor bilimleri fakültesi öğrencilerinin üretmiş oldukları metaforlar arasında en fazla kullanılan kavramların Antrenman, Rüya, Yağmur, Kıvılcım, Ayna ve Tohum şeklinde olduğu görülmektedir.
