Özet:

The subject of Taqwa is included in many verses of the Quran and is one of the first issues that the prophets commanded to their people. Taqwa, which has an impact throughout the lives of the prophets, plays an active role in the emergence of true faith, and is also considered an indicator of the sincerity in faith emerging through the behavior of the servant. The concept of taqwa existed in the pre-Islamic period of ignorance; While it means to avoid a material danger, to be protected, with the revelation of the Quran, it has gained the meaning of protecting the servant from sin and punishment through behaviors that will please Allah. As stated in the Quran, the best example of a servant in terms of taqwa is undoubtedly the Prophet. Therefore, he pbuh asked Allah to be a pious servant and commanded taqwa to his companions who asked for prayers from him. For this reason, in this study, taqwa of the Prophet will be examined based on the hadiths. The purpose of the research; is to understand how the concept of taqwa, which is translated as Fear Allah, Beware of Allah and Be respectful of Allah in the Quran and hadiths, is reflected in the life of our Prophet. When we look at the literature, it has been determined that studies on taqwa are mostly evaluated through the Quran, and studies using hadiths as a reference are limited. In this article, this phenomenon which the Quran frequently emphasizes, will be examined through hadiths in more detail than other studies on the subject, especially by considering the authenticity of the relevant hadiths. Accordingly, the scope of the article is limited to the hadiths in which the concept of piety is mentioned in Kutub-i Tisa. The hadiths of taqwa in question were interpreted by dividing them into headings according to their content. While interpreting the hadiths, classical sources and current commentaries were used, as well as the opinions of scholars and tahric books were consulted to determine the authenticity of the hadiths. When we look at the narrations examined in the study, the concept of taqwa is used in some hadiths in its dictionary meaning; It was used to mean to avoid or protect from any danger. In some hadiths, taqwa means the best thing a believer does towards Allah, the only criterion of superiority and the respect of the generous person towards Allah. By bringing a new dimension to taqwa, the Prophet gave this concept new meanings in terms of social relations. It has adopted the line of moderation from the tormented and ascetic perception of taqwa found in previous religions. Taqwa affects the behavior of the servant and enables him to live moderately according to the Quran and Sunnah. Likewise, taqwa turns into an abstract spiritual authority by establishing a close bond with faith, deeds and morality. Taqwa ensures that the servants actions are taken under control. As a result, it transforms the servant into an exemplary believer both individually and socially.
