Özet:

In recent years, it is seen that the impact of technology and digitalization has increased in every field. From the political sphere to the economic sphere, from education to health, many fields are being restructured in accordance with the requirements of this new structure. In this process, active learning methods have started to be questioned by excluding traditional learning methods in the development of educational and training materials that will enable students to participate effectively in lessons by utilizing the possibilities and opportunities of technology in the field of education. Learning methods such as watching movies, developing simulations, listening to music or podcasts are accepted as methods that enable students to actively participate in the learning process. As a matter of fact, it has become an important issue to utilize active learning methods in the learning process of a discipline with complex theories and concepts such as political science. This study questions whether novel readings and analyses will contribute to student active learning processes and whether it can be accepted as an active learning method. In this regard, the data of the research is based on focus group interviews with students taking the course titled Class and Social Inequalities within the scope of the masters program with thesis in Political Science and Public Administration at Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, Institute of Social Sciences. The research found that students having the opportunity to present their novel analyses with their own expressions on the aims of the theories and concepts they had seen in the course was effective in the active learning process.
