Özet:

The aim of this study is to determine the frequencies of keywords used in research articles in the field of academic writing and to examine the matches of keywords with the title and abstract. The basic qualitative research model was used in the study. In order to reach the analyzed articles, firstly, terms related to academic writing were defined. With the searches made in DergiPark with the terms in question, 101 research articles were reached and 446 keywords in the articles within the scope of the study were evaluated. In the study, data were collected through document analysis. Descriptive analysis technique was used to analyze the obtained data. It was determined that the most used keyword in the research articles examined was academic writing. In addition, it was defined that the frequency of the keywords used in the studies -except for a few keywords- was generally low. It was concluded that most of the keywords -albeit from different categories- matched with the title and abstract. It was revealed that the most common category for matching keywords with both the title and abstract was an exact match and the least common category was all present. Similarly, variant match and partial match categories were found to be close in both the title and abstract. However, it was concluded that the rates of the no match category in the title and summary differed.
