Özet:

In this study, the letter written by Mirza Jahan Baht Jahanandar Shah, the eldest son of the Bābür emperor Shah Ālem II, to King George III of Great Britain has been translated. In addition, before the translation of the letter, a general evaluation of the period of the Bābureans and Shah Ālem II is given. On the other hand, the fact that the letter in question was written during the reign of Shah Shah Alam II, who had to reign under the effective influence of the British and the Marathas, who became the dominant power in India at the end of the 18th century when the Bābureans were in the process of collapse, is also important in terms of reflecting the situation of the state. Therefore, in addition to the translation of the letter, which constitutes the main content of this article, it is hoped that our study will contribute to the scientific researches to be carried out on similar subjects in the future.
